Firefighters and MDA Thank Community Citizens for Support in their Fight Against Muscular Dystrophy
HAZEL DELL, WA -
The members of Clark County Fire District 6 Professional Firefighters (IAFF) Local 1805, and the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) would like to thank community citizens for their support and generous donations towards finding a cure for Muscular Dystrophy. Members of Clark County Fire District 6, and their family members participated in their 10th annual “Fill the Boot” campaign for MDA during the 48th Annual Hazel Dell Parade of Bands. The group was able to raise $2,993.42 for the MDA thanks to the generous donations of community citizens and parade onlookers. Firefighters collected donations along the parade route that ranged from small change to $20 bills. 2012 celebrates the 58th anniversary of the IAFF (International Association of Firefighters) and the MDA’s partnership to find a cure for Muscular Dystrophy. The IAFF in its’ partnership with the Muscular Dystrophy Association; has raised more than $400 million in an effort to fight more than 40 neuromuscular diseases since their alliance began in 1954.
